Company Christmas Party

North Hop is a company who organise pop-up events, festivals and collaborations celebrating the finest food, drink, makers and music out there! With this years event being held in the North-East of Scotland in December 2021

Being contacted by the organisers we were asked to supply a temporary power distribution system, lighting and modular staging. This required power distribution to multiple outdoor vendors. Power was being supplied from the grid with the connection around the back of the building from where the vendors would be located.

Along with the standard design considerations there were special considerations to be made during the design stage, as with all temporary power distribution systems these need to be carefully and with a great degree of detailed plan to make sure there are no issues during the installation stage. ShowEquip then got to work calculating some key figures including total, individual and phase current draw among many others. Phase/load balancing being taken into account as a point of good practice.

Once all the design considerations had been worked out and the initial specification verified to make sure we were meeting the requirements, our chosen solution used a 63a 3 phase cable from the rear grid connection point taken through to a distribution box which split everything into 32a and 16a single phase runs to the vendors.
